Learning at our school

During the past five years the school has developed an extensive computer network and has incorporated information technology into its core priorites along with literacy and numeracy.

To ensure all staff have the same understanding of and ability to use technology both personally and in the classroom staff undertook the INTEL: Teach to the Future training course.

This has ensured all staff have high level computer skills and are confident using technology in their daily teaching/ learning.

The skills they acquired have made it possible for teachers to confidently use Interactive Whiteboards (IWB) amongst other technology in their classrooms. All classrooms in the school have IWBs in place. They are in constant use. We have 30 mobile laptops and a connected classroom which allows us video access to the rest of the world.

The school is proud of its innovative approach to education. We are constantly challenging ourselves and taking risks in order to improve the quality of our students’ education.

Our desire is to make the students’ learning relevant and authentic for their world, in so doing ensuring their learning outcomes are continually improving and they are prepared to be learners into the future.

Our priorities for 2009 – 2011 are: Literacy, Numeracy, Student Engagement, Quality Teaching and Aboriginal Education.
