Jump Off Day

On Friday 25th of June was BSPS Jump Rope For Heart Jump Off Day.

Each stage “jumped off” for 1 hour in area 5. Students were sponsored by family and friends to raise money for the Heart Foundation.

Students all had a great time skipping and showing off the skills they had learnt during sport lessons and at lunch time.

There was also a yummy sausage sizzle on the day and healthy oranges to keep up  energy levels.

Thank you to all that participated and made it such a lovely day.

Healthy Canteen Choices

The Hall and Canteen are coming along. Here are some recent photos.

Our school Canteen lady, our PD/H/PE teacher, Ms Dongas and a dietician from SW Area Health will be working closely together to make sure our new canteen will be a Healthy School Canteen.

The Canteen, which is part of the New Hall complex, looks absolutely amazing and we want our whole school eating healthy food and supporting our canteen in the Healthy Canteen program.

Watch this space and The Sport Shed for updates on the interesting things that will be happening with our canteen.

One of the suggestions is to use Mystudent account debit cards to enable parents to have more control over their child’s ordering.

Wii being put to the test

There is a great deal of speculation about whether using the Wii is a valid way for students to experience aspects of sport and fitness.

Our specialist PD / health /PE teacher and her Stage 3 students are putting the Wii to the test.

Click The Sport Shed to read all about it and while you are in The Sport Shed check out all the good things our students are doing.

Dance2BFit getting the K to 2 classes moving.

A great way to start the day

This term the K to 2’s are dancing to be fit and to getting used to the idea that dancing is for all ages, shapes, sizes, boys as well as girls!!

The School Dance group has so many boys keen to perform because the school’s consistent and constant approach is to ensure all our students are given the opportunity to make up their own minds about dance and movement from an early age.
